BIOSTAR OIL GmbH was founded by Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Johann Kellersperg in 1985 and is based in Ragnitz in Southern Styria (Austria).
For more than 20 years, we have been active in the development and application of biodegradable lubricants. BIOSTAR OIL was the first company worldwide to bring biodegradable lubricants onto the market. In the last few years, our market position has been strengthened and enhanced through the high quality of our products and effective marketing activities. Numerous awards and certificates are a testament to this.
Thanks to the highly flexible structure of our company, we are able to react to all of our customers´ requests. We can adapt viscosity, wear and pour point properties and the like depending on their needs and they can even choose the individual design of their canister labels (company logo, photos, colours, etc). Moreover, our state-of-the art production facilities enable us to respect tight delivery deadlines at short notice.
Naturally, we also put great emphasis on research and development. During recent years, we have developed products with long-term resinification prevention properties that can even prevent resinification for more than 5,000 hours at a temperature of 80°C.
Our products are based on rapeseed oil, which are our highest-selling products, as well as on ester oils. Ester oils are mainly used for hydraulic oils for heavy machines such as excavators. The technical properties and the durability of these hydraulic oils have are superior to those of mineral oil-based hydraulic oils and, of course, conform to all required standards in this field.
